Child Development on the farm!

Here at Farmer’s Helpers we expose kids to a wide range of engagement that helps to strengthen their minds and their bodies. For young kids physical, mental, and emotional development are in full force and it is important to nourish this growth.

According to a study from the University of California Berkeley, being immersed in nature not only benefits a child’s health but significantly increases their ability to learn academically.

Being on the farm gives kids hands-on experience with animals and nature. This teaches life skills about hard work, caring for others, and working together. We encourage healthy risk taking and allow kids to challenge themselves and accomplish new goals. Something as simple as climbing a fence is a huge developmental milestone that enables growth of their gross motor skills, self confidence, and problem solving. We see lots of these accomplishments from all kids in our nature based farm programs as they discover new outlets of growth and self exploration.
